I make my own cables...

I started making mine out of disgust with the high prices and low quality... so i was able to find the stuff and make my own and i've not been disappointed at all...

I have made several cables for myself as well as friends and they have yet to fail... i'm willing to make cables for any of you knuckle heads PM me for details and prices... i'm not in it to make a killing just pass along quality cables at fair prices to the gang here.

Wow bro I seriously feel for you and dont know what to even say as I know you must be sick. The whole thing is kind of weird as like fing I use Monster cables and would swear by them but then again only use straight ends.

Hey guys,

Just picked up another angled Monster "Rock" cable today. However, let me explain:

I prefer this cable's voicing, as it were, over ANY other cable out there - yes, there is a difference in the tone produced in different cables. Even compared to Mogami the Monster has "more" punch.

Now, with that aside. Yes, I also have broken every single Monster angled cable for the last decade plus (and, I am extremely gentle with all my gear!!) It's not me - it's the cable!

Never-the-less they have a lifetime guarantee, so I am able to get a new replacement, so I put up with the periodic breaks because the signal is "in your face".

I hope someday they will do a better job on the construction quality - geez, how long do you need Monster???

HI

Guys its probably one of the worst days in my guitar history!

I've got monster cable since its been advertised as sturdy good cable but unfortunately after a year of home use (only 1 year?) the 45 degree connector fall into pieces destroying my magnetic stereo output :

And after 20 minutes i got it out but it wrecked one of the small parts inside the 1/4 jack :

Therefore my question and big hope in customer support if they can help me anyhow with this matter? I know i can count on you guys as you've helped me once with outstanding service like noone ever did!

This happened to me with my old EBMM JP6 back a few years ago. I contacted monster cable several times and they were rude and would not help me at all. They were completely useless. I had to pay to ship my EBMM JP to Cali and have the EBMM guys reinstall a new preamp. It was a HUGE hassle. EBMM was great of course as always. They were sympathetic to my situation. But as for monster cable, I wont EVER EVER use their products again nor will I recommend their products to anyone.

Good luck man.

not to get off topic but nothing wrong with Monster cables:confused:

So if you do not like them recommend some:)

You're right, Keith. Nothing wrong with the cables, just with the right-angle connectors they use. As long as you're using the straight connectors, they're great.

I personally use cables from Guitar Cable as they use high quality OFC and your choice of plugs (I use G&H plugs on my cables). Never had a problem with them...and even with the shipping they come in a bit less than Monster or Mogami. They also have a lifetime warranty, but I've never had to use it.

First off, yes you should contact CS today and see if they have any suggestions.

You're also likely going to have to call and deal with Monster, since it's their product that caused this.

I'd personally love to know how you make out with Monster- I'm sure a lot of the other guys would too.

Hi Everyone,

Just came back from work and I will be on the phone to "monster customer support" just to see what they will say as I don't really think that they will help me at all.

Unfortunately I will not be able to phone strings and things today as its 7:00 PM so they're closed by now but its 11:00 AM in California so I will give them a buzz and will see how we can sort this out.

Thanks for all words of support and stay tuned :)

Update:
Phoned them as usual they were "pushing" me from one to other department and finally guy gave me two numbers which were not recognized... so I found numbers myself but cant phone them since its nearly 8PM.

Like I said before they were useless to me. I wish I would have kept calling and calling no matter how long it took to get them to pay for it instead of saying screw it! I just want my JP playable again. But after 2 weeks of daily calling I gave up. :(

Yeah, the good part about Monster cable, they are just minutes from my home (near San fran).

I think Monster probably concluded: ".........hey, we give a "lifetime" warranty on the cable - just take it back to GC and get a new one."

What they probably forget to consider is "did it perhaps cause damge to the guitar"? However, whenever I called Monster they were always prompt and courteous though. Maybe enough said about Monster; I think this thread may be just about over too.
