More BONGO sightings

On the early morning news they showed a clip of what's coming on later in the day on the Ellen show and it's gonna be Rick Springfield. They showed him playing Jesse's Girl and the bassist was playing a sweet lookin' Carbon Blue dual H Bongo 5'er!! sounded nice through my little TV speakers too... he mussta slipped the sound guy a $50 , not saying that the Bongo wouldn't sound great without the bribe but we all know how great sounding instruments can sometimes 'mysteriously' end up sounding like poo once FOH gets a hold of it
anywho, off for more coffee then to sell me some amps and geeetars

Hey BP, I love all the preamps in all my EBMM basses, espically the one in my Sterling! The only mod I ever would do to a EBMM is strap locks, and I feel funny doing that!

Rick must be another one of those artists with the hidden tradition of having the bass player play a MusicMan, or in this case, a Bongo. I remember just recently seeing the music video on the VH1 Classic channel of 'Jessie's Girl' (if I remember correctly) and the bass player had a Pre-EB Natural Ray.

ya,ya,.... my Ltd. Ed. fretless STILL has the factory and great sounding pre-amp in it but BP, the comments I've got from the Christina being on-board has been good AND PEOPLE STILL SEE THAT IT'S A MUSIC MAN BASS!!!!

so...if I promise on my grandmother's grave not to do any modifications to the SR5 with the rosewood neck do ya think you might sell it to someone who could use a fretted MM with factory electronics??

Back in October when I went to Florida, those guys were in front of me at the airport in Philly waiting to go thru the metal detectors & their carry ons were guitars in gig bags.

As far as the comment about modding a EBMM, i dont even put straplocks on mine, it does feel weird.

Yeah, I use the Schallers, and the screws that come with the bass fit the locks beatifully, so I don't even need to worry about altering the threads in the body. Longer too, for a better grip than those that come with the locks . . .

Same here.....first thing out of the case....straplocks.
Personally i like Schallers.

I use Dunlops and they don't require any drilling, either.

No drilling for the Schallers either, and as I said, the EBMM stock screws fit the locks perfectly, so no chance of damaging the threads (unless you go gorillafist on it) either.

Unless you go and do something crazy, and put flushmount straplocks on there.

Before you strike me down for blasphemy*, let me say that I'm never selling either of them, and I like the way they pull the strap a little closer to the bass.






*All I said was that those straplocks were good enough for Jehovah.
