Quick story on what you are about to see. Due to my health situation, I was not considering putting down a deposit on any new guitar which may be 3-4 months down the line in production, not great for my own thoughts and not fair to the dealer. So just before NAMM I spoke with Pete to see if while he was there he would ask if there was a chance that EB would sell me one of the NAMM HH ALS - specifically the mint green - which they usually do not do. This was before anyone (except maybe Fing) new that GC was going to get an early run of these.

I got a call from Pete from NAMM and Sterling got on the phone and told me I could get the guitar. Since this was an exception from their usual policy I said I would not make an issue of it, so as not to have everyone asking for an exception. Now since Sterling opened the barn in the other thread, I figure I could let the horse out now. It actually arrived the day Fing posted he had just gotten his from GC.

So I would like to thank BP, Pete DuBaldo and all the EB staff involved in letting me get this minty fresh beauty and adding a bit of joy to my current situation. Sometimes asking nicely is the right medicine.

And I figure I can give you guys a quick update. After some initial standard chemo and localized brain radiation, I've been in a clinical trial at Sloan for a new anti-body drug. The trial drug has been questionable in its response, although better results have been seen in others after more time and infusions (I've had 7 over 14 weeks) and I have been looking into other options. However, there has been some re-growth in the brain lesion and since they do not want to re-radiate, and active brain mets disqualify me from a large percentage of other trials, I will be having surgery to remove the brain tumor within the next two weeks.
But first, next week I will be going to the Super Bowl (one of those bucket list things that just had to be done :))

Gorgeous guitar. Sterling's generosity never ceases to amaze me (and I don't know a fraction of what he does). Anyhow, it definitely landed in the right place.

On your health- I'm so sorry to hear about the growth. Man, if there's every any favour I can do for you, say the word. Definitely thinking about you a lot.

Enjoy the hell out of the Super Bowl!

Nice guitar bro. If that is the NAMM one, I think I played it... I was gentle. ;)

About your treatments, hang in there. I sincerely pray that everything works out and that you and your family don't have to go through too much pain. Take care of yourself.
