Ok here's the semi review on the Koch Multitone 100 2x12:
Scuhhhh-reamssssssssssssssssss!

awesome amp, best clean I've ever heard and the dirty sounds are amazing. On the 3rd channel, the ultra dirty one, notes hop out the amp and smackalack ya in the face. We're gonna be friends for a long time....

On the He's an Idiot Tip:
And yer all gonna think I'm a GAS-o-holic.....but I bought my 3rd Petrucci today....Mystic Dream, no piezo, matching stock and dots. Found out I may have a new band to look forward to playing with so I figured I'd get me something nice.

@ORANGE:
Which speakers does your Multitone have? I hope NOT Celestion Vintage 30......
I've had the same combo amp, at first with V30's but they lacked the Multitone's power. If you play loud and with lots of bottom end, the speakers can not handle low tones and starting to clip. Koch is aware of this "problem" so I could change all the V30's (had a Koch 2x12 ext. cab with V30's) with Koch/Jensen VG12-90 speakers, without charge!! Koch has great customer support.

Mine has greenbacks in it. I know...greenbacks! It must've had the V30s in it originally as it is older. I got it for about 1200US used. One thing it doesn't have is the 50watt switch or the 3 way damping (has 2 way tho which is still awesome). I found a Koch dealer around the block literally from my house, which I never knew dealt Koch so I'm going to put the jensens in there via them. I might get the extension cab at some point too. This thing is a real tonemonster as well as space saver.

DML....how does yours sound thru the extension cab?

Wait a minute, you've got Greenback's in a 100 watt amp? You know GB's are 25 watts each? I hope the OT can handle the 50 watts resistance...... Are you sure it isn't at 50 watt 6V6 version?

About a year ago I sold my Multitone and bought another Powertone head with 4x12 cab. The Koch 2x12 ext. cab with Koch/Jensen speakers has more bottom than a standard Marshall 1960 with Celestion G12T75's. The Koch-speakers are very tight, even at high volumes. Most Celestion's gonna screem and sound squeeky when they are pushed, the Koch's don't.
I found the 2x12 closed cab as an extension to the open back Multitone very useful: you get the open, wide sound of an open back with bottom end of a closed back, great combination. I suggest you get one!! :D

I'm a Koch-player since 1994........

Methinks someone replaced these since I bought it used. The chassis denotes 100 watts. either way it is super loud and toneful. quiet too with no high gain hiss. we're gonna be freinds forever. lol. :D

The picture shows me in full action, at a gig, february 2003, on the background you can see my Multitone 100 combo with 2x12" cab, Powertone 6550 head with 4x12" cab, in hifi stereo.

This amp was shipped to me here in NY from Los Angeles...I think I need to retube as I've been getting some squeel on the Post channel at higher volumes. Should be golden after that tho'. Nice rig dude. I'll post the koch and my board pics as son as i get it all setup. I'm waiting on some stuff before I do it.

Speaking of which DML, what is the phoenetic pronunciation of 'Koch'? Is it Kah-ch? Or Cok(long o sound...)?

The picture shows some 19" stuff: TC Electronic G-major, Behringer Ultra-Q pro (param. EQ), Alesis Nanocompressor, Korg DTR2000. As a floorboard I used a Rocktron Midimate.
Almost all of the above I've sold.
The G-major sounded to transparent for me. I switched back to an old school Korg AM8000R processor that works fine for me with only the Korg rack tuner. No more midi. I'm happy now.

You Americans can't speak out SCHEVENINGEN (only Dr. Ruth can, LOL). No, it isn't Kah-ch of Cok. It's KOCH. The CH like the CH in SCHEVENINGEN. KOCH.
Hmmm, it almost sounds German........

HELL YEAH!!! Yesterday I received a small parcel from Tube-town with some nice tubes: 4x Svetlana 6550C, 4x JJ EECC83S, 1x Sovtek 12AX7WB and 1x Elektro Harmonix 12AX7EH.
Within a few days I will let you know how my retubed Powertone II sounds.

Well, yesterday was the big night. Last sunday I've changed the tubes of my Powertone II. It had Ruby EL34's in it and put some nice big bottles of Svetlana 6550C's in it. The pretubes are changed with JJ ECC83S, all of them.

MAN, helluva sound!! PURE TONE!!! This thing blew me away. With EL34 I turned the mastervolume up to 12 o'clock but now 9 o'clock is more than enough. Turns out that the PT2 has more dynamics and headroom than my trusty PT1 (with Sovtek 6550). The JJ's don't have that much gain as I presumed but they are very nice, beautiful tone. Next week I'm gonna change the V1 pretube to see if some other tubes sound better.
