Man those are nice!
I really really love my Silo. Its so inspiring to play. All the different tones I can get out of it really make it an extremely versatile guitar.
I do have to admit that I made some modifications to it to fit my style.
I changed the bridge pickup to a Dimarzio Andy Timmons. This pickup is so dynamic. It responds so well to whatever picking style I use. Very clear sounding and punchy. In the middle I dropped in a Dimarzio Area 67. This pickup is amazing. Its punchy,clear,very dynamic, tons of harmonics and it sounds great with whatever amp settings I use. The quack I can get from it really gets me into Strat territory. And in the neck I tried an Air Norton but it was too boomy sounding to me. So I changed it to a Liquifire and its perfect. Its smoother and warmer and fuller that the Air Norton & doesnt have that boomy sound that I didnt really like about the AN.
I also went with some Graphtech String Saver Saddles. They totally warmed up the tone some and I NEVER go out of tune since I installed a Tremol-no and keep it fixed all the time.
I was kind of afraid that the pickups and the saddles might start to get a bit muddy, so I upgraded the volume to a 500k and also dropped in a No-Load Tone Control for slightly extra output.

I'm glad you're happy with it; the Silo certainly is a solid platform to start with.I used to muck around with my guitars a lot, I've got a box of pickups lying around somewhere. That was when I played a Les Paul, and years before eBay, where it wasn't as easy to recoup some of the money spent on a pickup that didn't work out. But, I've been so happy with my EBMMs the way they are, plus I've got less free time, so I haven't had the urge to do that in a while.
I do miss the fact that even if I wasn't happy with the results, I almost always learned something. The last project I did was routing out a beater Peavey Wolfgang to install P90s in it. That was before I latched onto Music Man and the MM90 ASS. I then learned that basswood + P90 = not so good, ash is the way to go for that pickup

Or in a larger sense, good guitar makers use certain woods for a reason, and "upgrading" basswood to koa or whatever won't sound as good -- all other things being equal.I also learned that when you drill a hole in the top of a 1969 Les Paul Custom, and then sell the guitar 30+ years later...well, that's about a $1500 hole
.My friend just put a set of the Timmons pups in his Strat, they do sound amazing. He's very picky, but he absolutely loves them, and his sound is just really great.
