I concur, with the additional evidence that every Axis EX I've seen says "Axis" on the headstock.

Sorry Jimi, having owned (and now sold) an Axis EX I can tell you that the word "Axis" does not appear anywhere on the headstock. It had the EBMM wording and nothing else...basically like an EVH without Ed's signature...

Man, am I nitpicking to a geeky level... :D

next one will have to be tougher i guess.
this one actually had eddy's sig on it originally......but went back to the factory & the sig was removed !!!!!!i got a closeup of the headstock ....but didn't have room to post it. i'll get janice to do it.
as this "Vanhaless" model belongs to vinny moore.......that was his living room. ( i got to tell ya lisa wasn't home...& the rest of the house was spotless & beautiful)
he lives a few miles down the road...& i was over there installing a synth pickup , and tweeking a few guitars , and playin a little.
he can play a guitar to within an inch of it's life !!!!!!one of those magical hands players . his fingers are connected to his soul.....& y'all are in for a mind blowing treat !!!!!!!!
:D
got 2 gigs today....gotta run....

p.s. vinny took the pics....& is LURKING ........

Tommy, cool story and trivia tidbit. Keep em coming these are great. :)

I thought an Axis EX too at first. Did Vinnie want the EVH sig removed or was that just something that happened by accident??

Man you know everybody!!!! :)

Vinnie, no need to lurk, but if you do post I'd turn off your PM capability, I have a feeling that you'd get tons of them, just ask Jon or BP.

Hahahahahaha.

vinnie sent this one back to ebmm so the sig could be removed ...at the request of ebmm.
i'm thinking that at the initial point where eddie split.......there were some evh models still in stock...... & in pocession of ebmm ...... .....and they removed ALL evh sigs they could from all their exisisting guitars that wenn't shipped...but already painted.....& perhaps in between the time eddie split & the time they decieded on the axis name .there may have even been a nickname .......like the ebmm vanhaless or something like that being throwed around until they decieded.

Man, does tommy have pull or what?
Luke was saying the same thing about the open house, namely how EVERYONE was going to be there and how much of a blast it was going to be.

Hard to believe so many legendary players will be on the same bill.

Talk about a guitar clinic!

Holy Cr*p! This forum Rocks!!!!

First we get Big Poppa, then we get a chat with Mr. Petrucci, and now Mr. Moore joins in on the fun, plus all the input from the EBMM staff!!!!

This is too much for a mere mortal to handle, I'm gonna go practice some more to make myself worthy of even reading this amazing forum.

Hey Vinman,
Welcome! You didnt need to explain the BOOBS and other but it was funny as hell. The Luke Comment was meant to draw you out. I knew you wouldn't stand for that. maybe if we tell some of lukes secrets we can draw him out. NOt that he is in the closet....but maybe.....

Here is a question

Which do you least enjoy?

1.Licking hot pavement.

2. having dinner with foriegn journalists

3.having dinner with foriegn journalists with frank...(just kidding frank)

4.having your prstate checked

5. Being asked to cough right after the prostate check.

6. opening that certified letter from the IRS

7.Playing a fast two beat country song in with all major chords?

How cool that Vinnie jumped in!

I attended what had to be one of his first clinics, at Piano's -n- Stuff in Pittsburgh right after the "Mind's Eye" album came out. (I bleeb he was endorsing the I-boys then.)

I have VinMan's signature on my VINYL LP "Mind's Eye" album cover!

(Do I have to explain what an LP is to you kids? Hahahahaha)

Hello all. OK Thomas - here I am. And it's only fitting that I use the name lurker. I assume "dudley syndrome" refers to one who rarely engages in forum activity. I must admit that I am also afflicted with this condition. In fact, there are about 100 questions for me at my forum and I need to get up off my lazy butt and answer these. This dudley thing is a difficult thing to overcome ya know. Playing all day is just so much more fun than typing.

The guitar was originally an EVH but they had me send it back to have the headstock redone. Not the best idea for an endorser to be playing a sig model that doesn't exist anymore. The name axis hadn't been thought of at that point. The joke name you referred to was the "Exhalen".

I look forward to seeing everyone at the Open House. Will be a blast.

Ciao!
Vinman
PS. For anyone who hasn't heard Tommy, he is a smokin player. He needs to put down the Morse and play a Silhouette Special though. Hahahahaaha.

well thank ya very much........

Holy crap. Need I say more?

Welcome to the fun Vinnie! It's great to have you here.

As others have said, this place is amazing. When Big Poppa mentioned the open house a few months ago, I joked with my wife about doing something impulsive and flying to California to meet some really good guitar & bass players. I am so glad I joked. We're booked and confirmed! I can't wait. This is going to be a once in a lifetime opportunity, and we all have Sterling to thank.

Congrats again on taking the plunge....hope to see you around a lot!
