So after being jealous of Tommy's Morse collection (he had two of the first 50 made) ... I finally convinced him to sell me Morse #23. The first 50 were signed by Steve on the headstock.

I'm proud to add Morse #23 to the collection! In great shape, with the lacquered neck, plays like butter. Very cool- the neck plate is blank, no serial #, made in '86-ish (goes well with my '91 6-bolter).

Thanks Tommy!

Jesus .... heartattack ...:eek::eek::eek:
I´m jealous ;)

Congratulations, beej !!!

It would be a dream to own one of these first 50. Never saw one in Germany.
Have much fun with it and if you want to get rid of it, PM me :D

Hey Beej, other than being a #23/50, is there any thing special bout the morse? (electronics, wiring? okay, the 6 bolt and the signature noted.);)

Nope, it's pretty much the same as the later Morses (excluding the hw changes that were made- bridge, locking tuners, etc.). Colour on the early ones is a bit lighter. And of course the neck profile is bigger than the new ones, and it's lacquered instead of the oil/wax.

Really, this is just a great specimen of a Morse. Extremely light, very resonant, neck is very comfortable, etc. And a little extra Mojo from the signature.
