Maybe this has been discussed in another thread but it's been tough searching through all the search results so here goes!

Can someone talk about the tones of this neck? Particularly on the Morse model. Any A/B comparisons between the standard neck and the roasted w/ebony neck? I'm getting ready to purchase a Morse model and came across one with the roasted neck but not sure if it's going to sound different than the standard model which I'm very familiar with.

Thank You!

Awesome! John is getting a Morse again! Best guitar ever!

You can use my Standard Morse to compare it too a Roasted Morse if you can find a one close to NEPA. Let me know ... ROAD TRIP!!!

I would think if there is any difference in tone at all it's going to be extremely minimal. It is still maple vs. maple. I could be wrong but I think the roasting process is more for neck strength and cosmetics than actually changing the tone.

Thanks for the replies guys! Hey Dudley, how about bringing your's to the store so I can check it out?

I think if anything will change the tone it would have to be the ebony fretboard. Something that I love on the LP's..
Anyone have a view on that?

Ok, Saturday is best for me? When are you available? I can bring both the standard and floyd if you want. Just let me know.

I rewired the pickups so that is no longer stock. It now has 15 pickup options, but setup more linear which works better for me. But you can still get the original 11 pickup options.

I removed the 3-way switch in my 2 Morse's, replaced them with 5-way switches, and rewired the pickups in the following configuration.

5-Way Switch (Replace the 3-way level)
1. Bridge Humbucker
2. Bridge Humbucker and Activate 3-way Middle Single Coils Toggle
3. Activate 3-way Middle Single Coils Toggle
4. Neck Humbucker and Activate 3-way Middle Single Coils Toggle
5. Neck Humbucker

3-Way Middle Single Coils Toggle
1. Single coil closest to Bridge
2. Both Single Coils
3. Single Coil Closest to Neck

2-Way Toggle
1. Activates Bridge Humbucker with any combination
