there are 2 chrome toggles on either side of the volume and tone pot....are those coil taps for the humbucers?

and then the 4-way selector switch to switch between pickups.

does that pretty much sum it up?

Yeah, it's a lot of fun  I fooled around with one here a few months back and enjoyed it a LOT. Then at the Open House I took Tommy's Morse and plugged it in when he was tryin to make off with the Albert Lee. Thankfully he didn't catch me :D

How's the switching on the Y2D?

(I'm gassing for a Y2D like a sumbitch...)

Dan - the Y2D just has a 5-way blade switch. Somewhere in a post from a few months ago is the schematic, but I didn't turn it up in my quick search. I think it goes like this (but someone correct me if I'm wrong):

1. Bridge only
2. Bridge & Middle
3. Middle only
4. Bridge & Neck
5. Neck only

If this is correct, somebody please confirm for me.

(And I'm torn between one of these and a Rosewood Axis Super Sport) :D

Tell you what: You can buy my Axis RW SS, and I'll order a Y2D ;)
I just bought the Axis and I love it. But I'm intrigued by this Y2D beast...

I think the Y2D has different switching than what was posted, but there's a jumper or something inside the cavity that can be flipped around and then you get the pickup swtiching described in this thread.

Dudley, can you help us?

John you are right. I had seen this article which must have been written before the Y2D was in its final configuration. You'll note this article says it would have a 2-way toggle and 3-way lever. We know that's not the case now. And thanks for linking to that thread, I wanted to see that wiring diag.

i'm so use to it by now...that i actually get confused on a reg 3 pickup 5 way !!! :D :D :D

Second that. I love the Morse switching and I'm super used to it. It's actually really intuitive when you get used to it (but I guess most things are).

Steve - I didn't go through that entire long thread I linked (I stopped when I found the schematic), bit I'm pretty sure you're right that there is a "jumper" in the control cavity. However, I think it changes that "Neck and Bridge" setting to the typical "Neck and Middle" setting usually found on 3 pickup/5-way switch guitars.
