Does anyone know where on the net hosts mp3s for free? Is there aomething like Imageshack for mp3? Bought a Toneport UX2 on Friday and now have my first EVER recording. Its not that great but wanted to share it with a few folks on various forums by linking to it.

God no, they review the music!!! I fully admit its amateurish, just want somewhere to store it so friends can have a listen.

Ali I hate to say this, but try purevolume or if you are really desparate you can create a MySpace page.

Why do you hate to say it? Are they problematic? I'll try later on once I'm back to broadband at home.

If you have your own site or free web space with your service provider you could set up a web page using a template based software that people could access:cool:

I was after one of these hosting places a little while ago. But then decided after listening that my .mp3s were crap, and didn't need to be heard! :D

I'll give it a go. Ritchie, I don't intend too many people to hear it! My timings rough to say the least. Haven't played with a drummer for two decades (and he was worse than me!!!) and having Garageband loops for tracks means they are ultra precise with no margin for my sloppiness. But I'm just doing it for my own fun to be honest. Fed up just playing along to records and want to try stuff out and see if it works.

I also promised Keith a year ago that I'd let him know when the tracks were complete.....and they still aren't!!!! At least I now own all the gear I need as I just bough the TonePort on Friday.

I think I'm one of the first to listen to it and kudos for a good recording. None of that drummerless playing shows heavily and overall its a great track. :D

Nice one Ali - think I'll have to post my site sometime soon when I get a completed track on it - its all good fun! Did you find the Line6 easy to use - I was looking at getting one to sketch stuff down - I am learning to use Sonar and I'm not a natural!!!:D

Thanks for posting that - I enjoyed it:cool:

Thanks for the kind words folks. My ego is intact!!! I'm under no illusions as to my abilities but I'm too old to want to be a signed up rock star these days and it's all for my own amusement.

Toneport was a piece of cake to use once I realised you can only get it to play through internal speakers when Garageband is open! I ended up using a preset tone for speed ("Thick n Juicy" it was called!!!!!) and altering it to suit the lead parts. Everything is on the Luke and the drums are basically two Garageband drum tracks playing at the same time. I always do that as it seems to sound less dead than just one.

Think I'll try something a bit slower next, now that I've vented steam on that one :D
