mp3's of my new R&B band.....fat SR tone!!Live off the floor

This is a little demo I did for a new band I put together.Classic R&B/soul/funk. You will notice that the bass sounds big and thick.I swear this has a little EQ and nothing else.We recorded live off the floor into an ADAT 8 track.I did a little mastering on my laptop.I have the SR double hum, I recorded all these tracks in the single hum config....a little bit of bass boost and a touch of treble and mid cut.

hope you like em

Nice fat tone, that's the tone I aim for most of the time from my Stingray. Thank you for posting a great example that debunks the "one trick pony" slap machine rep that the SR has unjustly gained among the younger generation (thanks to Flea).

Was that direct from the SR into the ADAT? (ie. not recorded from a direct out on a head/preamp?)

I think it's going to be an interesting year for gigs...got a lot of stuff in the States with the Abba band, this new R&B thing has some promise.Might have something in Dubai of all places! I don't get out to BC very often though....I only travel when there is a gig.
