Multiple guitar stands

This doesn't really fit the multiple guitar stands topic but I have a hanging guitar stand on my wall. How secure is it?

Secure until they fall down I guess...... .....I have seen people hang them on the wall. I don't. I have other "items" on the wall for quick access. I guess if the neck and body are supported, it should be fine if they are mounted with good wall hangers......anyone else do this out here?

I have the wall mount system too but I read somewhere that when you are not playing your guitar you should put it in its' case. Since the Limited edition cases are so plentiful around casa de Norm I think it would be a shame to not use them.

I use individual maple wood wall mounts. This way I can arrange them and they look better than wall paper.

Their out of the way of the kid, the wife when vacuuming, and the dog and his hair.

IF I had one of those racks, I'd be afraid of chipping them one tired or drunken night.

I was in a music store once and I took an ESP off a wall mounted rack, and when I went to put it back, it fell...ouch...so I'm very comfortable with my floor rack...besides, I don't drink, no pets and the kids are forbidden to enter the music room (which BTW was our dining room)

I can't remember the name of the manufacturer right now, but I like the ones that look like a guitar case when closed, and then they open up to a very nice multi-guitar stand. The thing I really like about them is the ability to strap them in at the neck. It's very stable.

I was told once by a music store clerk that using neck stands are damaging to guitars. Something about their wieght pulling on the neck joint. He meant electrics.

It seemed crazy to me. Especially since thats how he hangs 90% of his guitars. Or is it crazy?

i have one of those two. It works great. All of my other stands are now in the closet.

I have a triple Hercules stand which is really cool, and sturdy. I like the way they grab the guitar neck.

Thought I'd finish what I started here. Went shopping last night and checked out a few stands. I saw the Rockstand but agreed with Jon's comments; that there were no separators between guitars and I didn't want to take the chance of scratching any of my guitars. In the end I bought the Quick-Lok universal guitar stand (www.quiklok.com):

(When I get my new axes I'll put a shot of them all in the stand).

FWIW, this stand is excellent. Really heavy duty, has wheels, and folds up nicely. The separators will accept electrics or acoustics, and the guitars sit tight with no slipping. Best of all, there's little chance of knocking them together when moving them in or out of the stand. I bought a 5 and a 3 so I can move 'em around the basement. I highly recommend this if you're in the market for one.

I gotta hand it to ya beej, you do a fine job when it comes to git. accessories, like pups, trem re-setters and stands...and a bunch of other stuff aswell!

So after having this stand (QuickLok) for a few months, I can highly recomend it. Thing is totally durable and holds electics and acoustics really well - no chance of them bumping into one another. I've also got a smaller one for gigs, and it folds up and is totally portable. If you're in the market for a multiple stand, look no further ...

Thanks for updating this thread. I had been searching for a multiple guitar stand recently, and this one looks like it fits the bill. I am worried about the surfaces that touch the guitar. I have seen posts where people complain that the padding, foam, or whatever eventually rubs off and creates permanent marks on the body and neck of the guitar. Is there anything about the stand, or in the literature that came with the stand, that seems to address this?

There really wasn't any literature that came with the stands (other than installation instructions), but I'm not worred about marks with these stands. The contact points have soft(ish) rubber, not foam or padding, and don't leave any kind of residue or mark. To be sure, I'd check on Quicklok's site- they'd be able to tell you for sure.

These guys have been making keyboard stands for years and seem to be the standard there ... I've always heard good reviews of their products.
