I just got an music man silhouette 1990 and there are EMG pickups with no battery compartment built in the guitar. I took of the pickup guard and the battery was loose in there. Is that normal that these guitars (90’s) was released with no battery compartment.
Thank you very much. Also, I checked serial # and everything matches.

It wouldn’t have originally come with EMGs- whoever put them in must have left the battery inside the guard. The guitar had passive pickups and no Silent Circuit, hence no need for a battery box.

How about a picture or two- that’s a classic guitar!

Thanks for responding. I had suspected it didn't come with EMGs but as MM guitars are new to me I had to ask. The EMGs sounds amazing especially the single one in the middle.Again thank you.
