This is a question for anyone at EBMM. I was thinking, has there ever been any talk or thought of EBMM expanding into the acoustic guitar world?

And I've thought of a few answers to questions that Big Poppa might ask if the answer is no. To save BP some time.

1. I think the back log and wait time is long enough now for guitars and basses. I wouldn't want acoustic guitars pushing the wait times to over a year.:D

2. I would rather have the folks at EBMM concentrating there efforts on coming up with innovative ideas and models for electric guitars and basses, like the BFR's. Instead of them concentrating on acoustics, right now.:D

Thanks,
Scott

well, I'm not anyone at EBMM, but when this issue has come up in the past, here's what Big Poppa said..

he basically stated that he thought other folks were doing a good job covering the acoustic market and he named some acousitc makers (I think BP hordes Collings acoustics in particular).

He also indicated that making acoustics just doesn't do it for him, but he's really into making electrics.

Okay, I'll pipe down now and let someone 'official' answer your query!

And semi-acoustics Music Man ???

I tried some semi-acoustics that had a very nice sound (not only for jazz), and besides they are very light.

Why not a Silo Thinline ???

I was about to say the same thing. There are plenty of good acoustic brands out there and it would just be a huge can of worms for MM to open.

Speaking of Acoustics... what is your preference where you are unplugged?

I am partial to Martins. However, I don't currently own an "official" Martin Guitar. (I bought an EBMM Stingray instead. ;) )

I do have one made by Sigma Guitars which is owned by Martin. I picked it up for $199 used about 12 years ago, and it has been a great guitar for the $ I paid.

There may be a variation of one of our guitars as a thin line....rthe best chance of this is if one of our artists require it.
As far as acoustics go as Ive said before there is really some great people already there and we dont really see a place for us there.

My preference is for Taylors. I just sold mine, however, because BP, Dargie, and Drew talked to this guy John Petrucci. Now, they're going to be making this sweet-a$$ guitar with a mahogany neck and tone block with an alder body and maple top. Looks sweet. I don't know who this Petrucci guy is, though.;)

I have a Taylor 810ce myself, but I may sell it. Even with 13's, it just doesn't have the low end I like for heavy abusive strumming. For fingerpicking, it is the bomb, but it's not my thing so much. Martin may be a better solution.

BP, a thinline would be heavenly.

I still use my first acoustic that I got when I was 12. An old Mansfield. One day I'll have a Larrivee....very nice guitars.

The 12fret by me sells Collings. I know BP is partial to those. Beautiful instruments but well out of my budget.

Ive just picked up an Ovation Celebrity Deluxe for £250, my first acoustic and its great.
In the same shop they had a Stingray HH and a light blue SUB, they both sat there tempting me, ooooooooohhh the temptation.

Dude, go see Paul and Brent in Port Credit and grab a Larrivee. They should have some nice ones in stock. Good bang for the buck, too:D
