I have a Music Man HD130 I'd like to sell. It is the earlier, script version, with the preamp tube. It uses 4- EL34 to get 130W output. It has a switch that reduces the operating point of the OP tubes to achieve 65W. It sounds a bit louder than I expected through my 2x15 cab. Nice range of tones, too. With the Master on 7, and the Pre Gain between 2 & 3, my drummer asked me to turn down, and the guitarists agreed! The Master vol is nice, because you can turn it down and crank the pre for some nice dirty tones. I haven't fooled with the guitar side (yes it has a guitar input), as I don't have a suitable cab.

Everything works fine & it's quiet, too. The power tubes are a matched quad of Electro-Harmonix, and have 3 rehearsals on them. The amp has been biased, too. The pre tubes 12AX7LPS (Sovtek), but I've got others around if you don't like the Sovs.

It's pretty portable for a vintage tube amp. One hand will get it around. Cosmetics aren't perfect, but it looks very presentable.

Looking for $350 shipped/insured. Western New Yorkers will get a reasonable discount for PU. Interesting trades considered-surprise me!!

Yep, that 2x15 is a pig. I'm going to a smaller, more efficient two-piece speaker set-up, and need to fund that. Big reason for selling.

Reasonable offers/trades considered. I really don't feel like hassling with an auction.

Yeah, id be willing to trade if my amp is somethin youd be intrested in. It sounds like a good idea to me. ill do some research on the amp and make 100% sure itll work for me. if your intrested is there anyway i could maybe like use it for a while and if its not for me give it back? ive never played one so i dont know what they sound like. but id be willing to take it off your hands and see.

Let me think about it. Combos are a bit expensive to ship, and we've got to factor that in, but it's not out of the question.

I had a PM request for pics. I'll try to get some up tonight.

if you pay for shipping of the head ill get the shipping for the combo. or maybe we could split it becuase it cost me $700 and they go on ebay for like 400 or so.

pics would also be greatly appreciated.

Sorry they're not very clear. This amp is not mint, but sure isn't a roach, either.

skabassist, I'm considering it, but I really don't have a whole lot of use for a SS combo. I've pretty well got both feet in the tube camp. Your offer is more than fair, but I'm thinking it over as I'm not sure that it's right for me.

Biasing is very, very simple. I've got instructions & can get on the phone to explain it, too.

Oh, 4 ohms is fine. It has a switch on the back to run 4 or 8 ohm. 2 ohms would be a problem, though. Keep in mind, you'll get full power at 8 or 4.

This would be a great amp for someone who plays both guitar and bass, BTW. Eric Clapton used them for a while. If it doesn't end up sold, I'll probably keep it as a studio amp.

its cool ben. if my amp isnt right for you then its not meant to be. im ok with that. it would be the head for me, if it could reproduce the sound im looking for. but if what i got aint what you want, dont worry about it. by the way, thanks for all the info youve shared with me about your amp.
