your Axis is going to play almost identical to the EVH. Toggle stitch placement and body contours are the only real difference... the neck being thicker at the base is not noticeable.

from what ive read and heard, the music man evh is the best of all the "EVH" signature guitars! music man, peavey, charvel, fender wolfgang!

I would tend to agree with you on that one... EBMM did a killer job on that guitar! I think the Axis is a testament to that guitars reputation.

well actually the guitar was dropped a year ago and cracked the basswood on the back but was professionally repaired by a luthier! didnt affect the maple top tho!just looks like a scratch now! overall besides that the guitar is in great shape!

I do notice a difference between my EVH and the Axis' I've played re: neck width. It is certainly not the end of the world and if you like one, no doubt you'll like the other, but there is a difference.

I love the pickups on my EVH. There are an amazing amounts of tonal variations you can achieve.

Hey, I believe I know exactly which guitar you are buying. If you are getting this guitar from Illinois, I'm positive. If this is the guitar you are getting, I've played it, and it plays great. Even though there was a crack in it, you would never know from playing it. The only evidence of the body crack is cosmetic. It is a great EVH for playing.

You can expect to feel a little difference in the neck when you start playing up around the 10th fret between the EVH and the Axis. You will probably hear a slight tone difference between the two guitars.

IMO, the EBMM is the ultimate EVH guitar. I actually started off with the Wolf, and owned several. I've owned or played every incarnation of EVH guitars out there, even the $25K replica, and the EBMM EVH is at the top of the mountain.

Congrats on your purchase, you will love it.

The neck is slightly smaller (1/16th...?) You will have to get used to it not having a Belly cut and Toggle placement... Other than that almost identical... Both are great guitars... In all honesty the Axis is a "better" designed (for lack of a better term) EVH...

I love them both though... ('91 EVH and '02 Axis)

Congrats on getting yourself a real modern classic ax, to be honest outside of the toggle switch placement I doubt you will notice any difference in playability. But there is some mystique and mojo that a guitar that is 20 years old or close to it has.

Well I gotta say that the EVH is a nice guitar, but is it "the Best Signature" guitar?
IMO no - the Albert wins it for me - but hey we all have different opinions:cool:
He wrote "EVH signature guitars", not EBMM signature guitars. ;)

Congrats on your purchase. The hype is all true ! The MM EVH is the best of all the other mentioned, "Endorsed Products" :D

To save yourself some $$$$, stock up on Axis models. ;)

Evh fender

BMAC , awesome news about the new EVH music man guitar , Amber is my favorite color alongside Pink ..

But have you tried the new Fender EVH Wolfgang ?
By far the best out of all the wolfgang guitars ! now I really love my EBMM EVH but the neck on these guitars are really small ..

I wish music man would make the necks wider , you know ??:D
