Hi how are you doing.
I'm a really happy owner of a 2005 Music Man Luke II and I couldn't be happier with the guitar... until today.
I just plugged the guitar for recording and the volue was very very low, full of noise so my first thought is that the battery is dead.I changed it for several different new batterias of different brands just in case but nothing happened.
The strange situation is because I used it yesterday for recording and didn't had any problems.
Can you help me please? I live in a small town in wich I could not have any service for the guitar

Does sound like a battery issue. This comes up from time to time- make sure your battery fits snugly in the compartment. You can try a little cardboard shim underneath to help force it into the contacts. Could also be that the contacts are bent, not properly touching the battery.

Anyhow- I would play with that first.

THank you oso much for the reply! I can't seem to find any problem on the wiring, I'm not sure about the preamp but it was working yesterday. I think the same as you , probably a battery problem. But so far it hasn't worked. Thanks

It seems one of the mbrass/metal contacts of the battery is broken, and the worst thing is that I tried to buy the battery box here and MUSIC MAN dosn't allow me to buy it, how do I solve this?

Thank you, how weird is that I can't buy the original one but I think Gotoh will work perfectly, thanks!!!
Pretty standard part and I use them in everything. Available in multiple places. Ones I got through Amazon did not have screws which was a particulate pain, Stewmac does include screws. And while they are pretty much the standard I find them lacking in durability as the fine wires flex in a very small space every time you open and close them and the contacts are just not all that well mounted and prone to failure. I have resoldered the wires to the contacts but they always end up fragile. But they are easy to install so big picture it's not too bad I guess.

Sadly in a third-world country is nowhere to be found LOL. I just can't get the original MUSIC MAN Battery box nor the possibly replacemente GOTOH BB-04.

I recommend never taking your soldering iron near the box. It's a bit too "melty". Much easier to simply splice the wires from teh new box to old wires somewhere in the cavity.
Maybe that's what happened because the plastic is melted and uncomplete, so the metal part in wich the battery does contact falls under the battery cavity. The main problem is that I use the guitar constatly for recording and now I'm kinda stuck.

You could remove the existing battery box, buy an old fashioned snap on 9V battery connector?
That's a fine temporary fix while you source a replacement Gotoh box. Solid connection and easy to execute. Could also easily modify the existing, bad box so that it appeared untouched. I'd have zero issues in making that change permanently. Solves a few known issues.

Possible dumb question but are in an area that Amazon would deliver to you? Or a carrier service like FedEx/UPS/DHL etc could get a package to your door?

A local music ship might have a battery connector?
There's only two music shops here and they are very very basic, some strings, some straps and soem guitars and drums. They don't have any hardware or replacement parts nor can't get them. I talked to a specialized parts shop in Bs As and they don't have it either. I think it's matter of looking for it, maybe some music shop in the country could have the battery box but sadly not here.
