Hi everyone! My name is Lucas and I’m from Buenos Aires, Argentina. This is my first time posting here, so nice to meet you! I’ve just received my new Ernie Ball Music Man Majesty Polar Noir 2015 and I have a few questions. Ebony fingerboard must be black but I see some brown lines. Are those normal? And the second question, I see two holes in the trem cavity. Normal? Sorry if I’m bothering but It’s my first majesty I’m a bit worried about. Thanks!!! (I upload a few pics to show you the guitar too)

Hi Luks! Welcome to the forum family and congratulations on your new guitar.

The ebony on your guitar is completely normal. Most ebony on modern guitars has lighter streaks, sometimes like chocolate, or dark or lighter grey, or some times even cream or almost white in color. That's what most of the ebony in the world really is. Pure black ebony is now very rare and very expensive. Bob Taylor explains why...

Thanks for your quick answer! I’m gonna check the video. Happy to hear that is normal. I had a JP12 and ebony was full black so I was worried about this. Thanks a lot!

the streaks on ebony are not only normal, but should be desirable! :) For totally black look with zero visible grain it is better to use those composite artificial materials that are far more superior in terms of consistency and stability. Wood is all different all unique and pain in the neck to work with, that's why we love it :)

Looks normal to me plus it is a 10 year old guitar, EBMM age well :)
Haha yes! The guy from I bought it purchased the guitar brand new and stored without use. It’s mint condition. It was my dream guitar since Dream Theater came to Argentina in 2014. Love those first run finishes. (My english is really bad and I don’t want to use google translate since I need to improve it)

That neck looks chocolately delicious. Love the textures. Even if it wasn’t normal I’d keep it. It looks really good!
