Can anyone that has played a SUB tell me how it compares to a stingray in quality and sound? I mean, is it worth it's price tag? Also, how is it different from a stingray? Thanks in advance.
I haven't seen one for sale yet in a music store, but I am curious about them also. I wish they would make a 5 string S.U.B. since many times I wish my StingRay5 basses could work passive as well as active.
Ok, now i know this sounds stupid to you bass tech wiazards. but is there a big difference from passive and active basses. The active basses sound more modern and more full, sure, but they sound better too, and are commenly more vfersatile when it comes to sound.

"I'm lost at the big benefit on passive basses".
Some people feel that basses with passive electronics sound more natural.
Some active electonics add noise, especially if you add treble.
You don't have to worry about a battery dying in a bass with passive electronics.
