Hi, I purchased a secondhand 4 string EBMM Stingray a few months ago, the seller had bought it from a musicstore and didn't know for certain how long the bass had spent in the store prior to him purchasing it. I'd quite like to know the DOB of this bass, although it is in great shape so I don't suppose it's very old. The serial is E41071. Thanks.

Sure - your SUB Sterling bass in Textured Cinnamon was completed on 4/28/04 and was shipped originally to Russo's Guitar Center in Omaha, Nebraska. Nice!

Thank you Dan - I PM'd you about this without thinking to repost here (sorry!) - any idea how many of these SUB Sterlings were made in the TS finish?

Thanks again!

Cliff, after intense research, I discovered we have made just shy of 100 of the SUB Sterlings in Textured Cinnamon.

Guess I don't need to answer my PM now?

OMB, your bass was completed on 9/24/96 and was shipped to a GC. That was when birdseye was plentiful ... ah, the good ol' days!.

Two more for the DB

Black with rosewood 4 string Stringray s/n 26815. Rosewood f/b. Black pg. 2 band eq. 26th January 1988 written under control plate. Bought new in Paragon Florida but has lived in the UK ever since.

Natural with maple 5 string Stringray s/n E09196. Maple f/b. Black pg. 3 band eq. Bought new in Andertons UK, can't remember exactly when December 1999?

I guess with a 20 year old and a 9-10 year old I should be looking for another one soon!

Wonky,

Your black 2-band StingRay was built on Feb.16, 1988 and was shipped to the old Thoroughbred Music in Tampa, Florida.

Your Natural StingRay 5 was completed on June 4 1999 and was shipped to the U.K.

Guess it is time for another .... :D

Hey, you're right (of course). It did come from Thoroughbred but I stick a Paragon Music sticker on the case for some reason.

Perhaps a Bongo next...
