Valle, it must have just arrived at the store before you bought it ... this Electric Blue/rosewood matching h/s beauty was completed on December 1 2008 and was originally sent to GC's central distribution center.

Hello every one and happy new year from France (ok it's a bit late...) !

I have just bought the Stingray number 26670, looks to be a late 87 one but I would love to know its date of birth ! It seems to be Honeyburst but I am not sure it was called like that in the 80's. The neck is birdseyed with maple fretboard.

The bass is fitted with a clear transparent pickgard. Is there any chance it is the original one (as it is claimed by the seller) ? If not, can you please tell me what colour was the original pickgard ?

That's correct, Jon, exact date is 08/11/89 - was originally shipped to the old Veneman Music Emporium in Rockville, Maryland.
