She is indeed a thing of beauty  although at my age fashion statements are somewhat wasted...

I've searched the other PC but I cannot find the SR4 serial number file which is a bit frustrating. I reckon it's way past time I arranged for my SR4 to be shipped back anyway.

Well ... here's what I've got to say about that ... this Black StingRay 4 with a rosewood board and a matching headstock was completed on 6/07/05 and was shipped to Bass Central.

Dan

Dan, by matching headstock you mean, it supposed to be black? In this particular SR the headstock is regular, with rosewood board. Seems that it was replaced but still sounds perfect MM.

sorry, my bad, it did not not have a matching headstock. Upon looking again, I realized my mistake - the headstock is supposed to be natural. Don't know where I got that - :/ sorry

Dan

Everybody makes mistakes, I focused first on the DOB and forget about 'matching headstock' which I confirmed 'correct'.

Anyway thanks for re-check.

Black SR4 with neutral headstock and rosewood board - that's what I've got.

Have a good one.

TDbass, you can go back and delete that post if you want to ... ;)

We have no records of pre-EB and even the earliest EBMM StingRays. Your serial number looks incomplete for a pre-EB StingRay though ... are you sure there isn't a "B" or another letter in front of that number (on the bridge plate)?

I am sure the resident MM historian will be weighing in on this one .. take it away, Gav!

In the meantime, you can check his website ... www.musicmanbasses.org

Hi--I just joined and was wondering if I can get the info on my Stringray 4-string that I got in February (2009). Serial: E69331. Thanks!

It hooked me the second that I tried it out. What a sound and feel! :-D

Hi Dan,
Thanks for the response...on closer inspection it looks to be an 8 or B but I just glanced at the number before I posted. I'll have to move the strings a little to get a better look at the bridge. :)

Welcome to the Forum.

As Dan has pointed out, your Bass serial should be prefixed with a "B".

"B021338" indicates 1979/1980 but the serials aren't necessarily chronological.

The Pre-EB list is:

HERE

If you need to know the exact vintage of your Bass the neck and body should be dated but the neck has to be removed to view them.

Hi Dan,
I'm back with the Ballers with my newly acquired 30th Anniversary SR4. Low serial number, at least compared to my old 30th - E35002. A date of birth would be cool, thanks!

Rog, that serial number is referencing a Sequoia Gold StingRay 4 - are you certain of the serial number?

Or maybe it's me that is off - that's 2 in a row with serial number issues.
