Just kidding, I had it changed
Maybe I'm an oddball but I prefer the black pickguard

Well ... here's what I've got to say about that ... this Black StingRay 4 with a rosewood board and a matching headstock was completed on 6/07/05 and was shipped to Bass Central.
Dan
sorry, my bad, it did not not have a matching headstock. Upon looking again, I realized my mistake - the headstock is supposed to be natural. Don't know where I got that - :/ sorry

TDbass, you can go back and delete that post if you want to ...![]()
We have no records of pre-EB and even the earliest EBMM StingRays. Your serial number looks incomplete for a pre-EB StingRay though ... are you sure there isn't a "B" or another letter in front of that number (on the bridge plate)?
I am sure the resident MM historian will be weighing in on this one .. take it away, Gav!
In the meantime, you can check his website ... www.musicmanbasses.org

Hi Dan,
Thanks for the response...on closer inspection it looks to be an 8 or B but I just glanced at the number before I posted. I'll have to move the strings a little to get a better look at the bridge.![]()
