Can you please give me the information (DoB, used woods, dealer is was shipped to, colour, PG colour, etc) you know about these basses:

Sterling fretless; 38587
Stingray; E54080
Bongo; F08942

And do you perhaps know something about the black sparkle finish on the bongo? I have never seen a sparkled bongo before.

Many thanks in advance!

Hello,
Can you please update me on the history of my Stingray ( E20395 ), and also, how to treat chipping of the epoxy... Should I fear for the wood under it? I live in a very humid climate. Thanks for any info.
Cheers.

Sterling fretless; 38587 - This bass was completed on 9/30/93 and is a finish called Pearl White, a very short-lived finish used on the new Sterling bass introduced that year. The body would be poplar and the neck maple. Shipped to the U.K.

Stingray; E54080 - StingRay 4 built on 8/09/06. Limited Edition Black/Gold shipped to Sweden.

Bongo; F08942 - Black Sparkle finish Bongo HH completed on 1/28/04. The Black Sparkle finish was discontinued in 2002, but my guess is that we made some specially for Voerman, our Swedish partners.

The wood should be fine, these types of stress cracks are not uncommon. But it is not epoxy, the finish is polyester clearcoat. Normally these cracks are in the finish only. Your Black Maple 2-EQ StingRay was built on 1/19/01 and was shipped to Sweden. (I didn't know it was humid there :p)

Dave, no way without seeing it to tell if is a one-piece or not. Our records don't tell us that. They do tell us that your bass is Honeyburst/Ash maple board 2 EQ StingRay.

:rolleyes:It was shipped to Sweden, I bought it in Belgium, went to work in China for 1 year with it, then moved to Korea for a year and now i'm living in Malaysia - and this is where the humidity is a parameter... Could it be stress crack from too much travelling?:p
Thanks for the info , Dan

Thank you so much, great service. Very interesting information. Do you have any idea how many black sparkle Bongo HH's were made?
