Hi Joel,
thank you for your information. The serial number is engraved in the bridge and it is correct. The bass is black with a maple neck and has a very colourful pickguard. It's a pity that no production number records are available, because I only can find one similar bass in the whole WWW. This was also shipped to Germany in 1992. Thank's a lot.

Thank you a lot, Joel. Now, before posting my request to you i had been browsing the BFR picture thread (pics not visible to me??), where i had stumbled over this
http://forums.ernieball.com/ernie-b...rve-picture-thread-post470538.html#post470538

In the current absence of the original pictures, i was not sure if mine might be one of the 120-strong run mentioned there.
But following your answer, it appears the high weight of mine is explained by it's solid African Mahogany body as opposed to the ash body mentioned for those 120.

Thanks again,
Ralph

Hey Ralph,

My apologies, we had some contradicting information here. The notes in our archive had these as Mahogany body. I checked with our Engineers and these did have the Ash body like Scott mentioned in that post. There were approximately 120 made, but we don't have records of the exact number made.

Hi. Just bought a Stingray 5 with a homemade paint job on it. I want to put it back original. Would you please lookup E07519 and tell me what you can about it (year and color is most important to me).

Thank you in advance!
