Was told by the seller this was a special edition bass as follows in an email he sent me.

"Here is some additional info found on the EB Forum per an EBMM Representative. It is a very limited run they called a string thru series made only for Guitar Center at the end of 2009. Only a few were made. Here is a list of all the ones the shipped that year with the production code numbers. Mine is the last one on the list:
