Hey, My stingray serial is B014351, PAT no 4031799. I think it may be 1978´s pre EB, but im not sure, since ive not been able to find this DOB info. Best regards and thanks a lot.

As Gav mentioned, we don't have the production records for the pre or early EB instruments since the serial number database didn't come around until the late 1980s. His website or checking the neck pocket are the best source for getting an idea of the production date.

Please, Sting Ray 5 HH with Maple neck. (Looks like Blue Burst or Neptune Blue, not sure).

When I remove the neck, I can see two stamps: JUN 12 12 (in green) and JUN 14 2012 (in red).
The back of the volume knob has a sticker with JUL 5 12 written in red.
