Hi 5 stringer - I'm new here - hope this message is in the right place.

I have a new blue dawn LE2007 SR4, rosewood matching headstock - already got the DOB from customer services - can you give me any info on the body wood? Serial is E42345.

Always wondered...

I have an '86 SR4, serial B023789, candy apple red with rosewood. I gave Rod the info on it a year or two ago, but was wondering what other info there might be floating around on it - body wood, what dealer it was sold to, etc. I'm pretty sure the neck is nitro, and curious if the body might be as well - has plenty of checking on it. Had it for almost 20 years now! Thanks.

My question is, can anyone tell me what year my MMB Sterling is? Serial # F07275 and any Info on this Blue Dawn finish (I Think).
Thank You
Ron Lauzon

Ron, your original Blue Dawn Sterling was completed on 6/24/03. Probably one of the last ones shipped of the original run. Nice!

Hey drT, your LE 07 Blue Dawn HH StingRay was completed on 5/29/07 (gotta share this info with the folks) and the body wood is ash, as are all current StingRays, StingRay 5s and Sterlings. Nice!

All reet!

The body is probably nitrocellulose lacquer. The body wood is most likely Poplar, but it could be Alder or Ash. Sorry - we just don't have any exact dates from that period. As you probably already know, Gavin's website is probably the best resource for that: Home - Musicmanbass.org, Musicman Bass.org, Musicman Bass (This website is not monitored, endorsed, or supported by Ernie Ball Music Man or its employees) Have to throw the disclaimer in there - :p
