Strings through the body - so I guess it should be STTB ... we only did these once or twice for Musik Meyer, our German distributor, so shhhh .... don't tell anybody! ;)

I really love you guys for doing this (STTB). It took more than three years to sell the bass (I bought it just a week ago new out of the showroom of a German store) and it is one of the best Sting Rays I ever played. 'Gut eingeschwungen' its what we say in German ;)

Thanks again and all the best!

Serial 59026. Got this Stingray5 Brand new with a heavily figured Birds eye neck and rosewood board. Believe its honeyburst but can take on a cherry with the right light. Also got the LE2007 Stingray5 Blue Dawn yesterday. Serial E42358. Can I get some exact info as well? These are the only two basses I have purchased brand new. Than guys and gals for a hell of a product.

Do you have any info on a MM Sabre Bass, SN 005508, eg date of manufacture, etc?

Keith, unfortunately, serial number data and records for pre-Ernie Ball Music Man instruments do not exist. When Ernie Ball, Inc. acquired Music Man in 1984 all the records had been lost or destroyed, and even some of the earliest Ernie Ball Music Man instruments have no serial number records. The best information we have indicates that the Sabre Bass was introduced in 1978 and continued until 1984, then was redesigned by the Ernie Ball team and continued until 1991.

Here is a website that many have found very useful for reference: Home - Musicmanbass.org, Music Man, Musicman, Music Man Bass, Musicman Bass, Music Man Guitar (This website is not monitored, endorsed or maintained by Ernie Ball Music Man or its employees) It is Rod Trussbroken's website - it might be the best for you to check out. The serial number should start with a letter though, probably a C.

Good luck!

I'm curious about the DOB of my Bongo Stealth 4HH # F13651. Could you please post what you have?

Mongo, your Stealth was completed on 1/23/07 before winging its way to Bass Central.

Can you tell me all the information you have for F13050?
Thanks!!!

Geis, this Bongo 5 HH-Piezo in graphite was shipped to Bass Central on 7/7/05.

I got my first SR5 used, hope to get many more, of course I would like to know her birthday so I can get a cake, and have a party for her. I think she's about 7 years old.
Her Serial # is E18867

Dan, here I am
I got MM Stingray 5 w/piezo,solid maple neck, color is hard to explain for me, there's no such a color on site's colour chart but i'd say it's sort of red. To my mind its DOB should be around sept. 2004
And the serial # E43057 for sure bought second hand in Moscow where it have been originally bought at your dealer Grand Mysteria. Could you check it again about this number ? Thanks you're a great helper!

romk, I checked it and re-checked it - it comes as a 2-band EQ StingRay 4 string in black. Perhaps the serial number somehow got mis-entered here, though that would be extremely difficult to do. It may have been switched after the fact. I will try to do more research on this.
