This StingRay 3EQ was completed on July 6th, 2005. The color is Natural Gloss with the Maple neck. The body wood is Ash. The neck is finished with the oil and wax, not lacquered. It was originally shipped to Bass Central.

This StingRay 3EQ was completed on August 29th, 2000. The color is Black Sparkle with the Rosewood fretboard & Maple neck. The body wood is Ash. It was originally shipped to Perkin's Music House. We don't have the exact notes on when Black Sparkle was discontinued, but it was in the early 2000s.

This great beast is with me now and could not be happier! Absolutely great bass! But, I do have a question..

SN is 52288.

That comes up as being built on March 22nd, 1991. There is not a name for the color in the system, merely says "special" which is what anything out of the ordinary was labeled as at the time. It's definitely trans white/Mary Kay white though. It should have the ceramic pickup.

Is this bass build in 91 or 93 as is stated on some places on this forum to be the only year this finish was used? And is it known how many 5 strings with this finish were made in that period?
