Hello again after a long time away from here.

I got rid of my '92 SR with the troubling G string issues and the low low
output volume issue and just yesterday I bought a Music Man Sting Ray
Slo Special single pickup 3eq w maple neck.

I am cleaning the mung and DNA off of it right now and have yet to
restring and plug it in here at home.
Going to start w RotoSound rounds, because that's what I have here.
Am keeping my fingers crossed that any issues can be dialed in by me.
It was ok in the store, but I can NEVER get a real picture of a guitar or
bass until I get it home.


Sure would appreciate it if you could tell me what the mfg year is.
SN is E72476. (I am going to guess '07-'08?)

Also if you might tell me what the finish color is called from a description.
It is a DARK, black /gun metal grayish / purplish, tiny metal flake. VERY
different looking. Especially up close.

Any info is much appreciated.

Is this bass build in 91 or 93 as is stated on some places on this forum to be the only year this finish was used? And is it known how many 5 strings with this finish were made in that period?
