many Thx and greetings from Germany

This StingRay HH Neck Through was completed on January 5th, 2016. The color is Sapphire Black with the Rosewood fretboard. It was originally shipped to our Artist Relations Department.

My serial number is - B023462, I think this is about 1983 but not sure

The serial number database didn't come around until the late 1980s after Ernie Ball took over the company so we don't have the production records of the pre/early EB instruments unfortunately. There were generally dates in the neck pocket or heel that may give you an idea of the production time. There is also a great website where you can compare to similar serial numbers, http://musicmanbass.org/mycustompage0052.htm.

Each serial is only used once on an Ernie Ball Music Man instrument. The serial numbers that begin with "S" are generally neck throughs and screened onto the back of the headstock. It's interesting that the serial on your neck plate begins with the letter "S".

Hey,
I have a MM Silhouette with serial 97034. I purchased back in 1996, but want to confirm the DOB. Any other info you can provide on the guitar would also be welcome.
Thanks.
