E26262 - This StingRay 5 was completed on November 13th, 2001. The color is Blue Dawn with the Maple neck.

E22786 - This StingRay 5 was completed on May 2nd, 2001. The color is Autumn Red Burst with the Rosewood fretboard.

This StingRay 3EQ was completed on June 17th, 2009. The color is Stealth Black with the Ebony fretboard. This does not have the SLO Special neck according to the serial number database.

May I ask about my two Stingray bass guitars? I am the second owner of B016118, a 1980 fretless sunburst originally owned by a well-known musician. Since I have trouble playing a fretless bass, I purchased B092522, a seafoam green bass with a maple neck. Thank you!

B016118 - This one is not coming up in our database. The serial number database didn't come around until the late 1980s so it was most likely built before that. There may be a date stamp in the neck pocket or on the neck heel that could help date it. There is also a good reference website to compare to similar serials, - Serials Pre-EB Sting Ray.

B092522 - This one is not coming up in the database either, is there any chance the serial number could be something different?

Hello, I rechecked and B092522 is the correct serial number. It is a Sterling Stingray which was just purchased from Guitar Center on November 11, 2018.

This StingRay Classic was completed on May 17th, 2010. The color is Black with the birdseye Maple neck.

That is definitely the Sterling/SLO Special neck profile. This was right around the time we first started offering the SLO Special option so it wasn't differentiated in our database.

That sounds like a "Sterling By Music Man" instrument. If so, serial data is not kept on them by Ernie Ball Music Man.
