Hi Gavin ~ here's the serial # to my Stingray: E32722

If I read your site's chart correctly, that would put the build date between July and August of 2002.

Am I correct?

Thanks,

James

Hi James.

>>>If I read your site's chart correctly, that would put the build date between July and August of 2002.

Yeah, either July or August. Beth or Derek will be able to give the exact date.

Thanks Gav! I'll give Beth a holler.

Hi everybody!

This is my first time posting. I really like reading all the posts, it's cool that there is so many people into Music Mans.

I have a beautifull natural SR4, 2 tone. I would like to know when it was born.

Serial # 30022. I've had the bass for a long time. I tried 3 times to register it on the ernie ball site but no luck. Must be a canadian thing.

As soon as I can get a picture set up Ill post it. It really looks like all the other natural basses out there except for the birdseye maple detail in the neck.

I love my bass. She will be with me forever.

Right now Im in the market for a nice sterling from 93 or so, when they had the string mutes. I find my string mutes give me a little fretless sound. Is it true that ernie ball changed the pickup after those years to a more punchy set up? Ive heard of guys changing them out to the after market stuff, to update the bass.

Well take care and I look forward to reading the forum some more.

Welcome to the Forum Dan!!

Your bass was born on 2/05/92, so you have a birthday coming up soon ;)

Glad to have you around here

Hi Aziah! Beth already confirmed that for me ~ you both rock!

Now I've got to send Jack $0.05 for the use of that term.

:D :D

Latest addition:

pre-EB Sabre

C004203..Neck 4 Oct 1979. Body 17 Sep 1979. Body has been stripped, with Maple. Black pg.

The body wood suggests this did NOT have a trans finish - so does that mean it was black? Inside the neck pocket and control cavity it looks to be white, but I don't think that was an available finish. I'll take a closer look in all the nooks and crannies for trace color.
