Hello 5Stringer. Here another stingrayer from Spain. I'm very very happy with my new axe.
My new Stingray natural serial number is E35286. Could you give me any info about it ,and what kind of wood, it seems more light than others SR, please?
Thanks!

Guacamole, welcome to the Forum and congratulations on your new StingRay! This Natural beauty was completed on 2/07/07 and is Southern Ash. Ash can vary a lot in weight.

Cheers,

Dan

So glad I found this thread! I've got two StingRay5s that I would love some info on.

Just bought this one used: E56064 (maple 'board).
And I've had this one for about 8-9 years, I believe: E02883 (rosewood 'board).

Thanks!

StingRay 4

Hello,
I've bought in second hand a StingRay 4 last year.
She is black with black pickguard, rosewood fingerboard, 21 frets, a single pickup with a 2 band equalizer and a very special bridge (see pictures).
I have read on some website it has been developped with or according to Flea specifications...
Her SN is 34661.
Could you give me some details about her please?
Thanks.

Renaud.

PS : sorry for my poor english, I'm a french guy... ;-)

Renaud, welcome to the Forum, your English is great. Your Black/rosewood StingRay was built on 4/17/92, which was when we were still using the bridges with mute pads. Nice!

Flea played StingRay basses for some years, but this bass was not designed for him specifically.

Stingray 4

Hi Dan,

Thanks for your very quick answer!

I'm happy to learn she was born in 92, she is 17 years old... I'm proud to own her, she sounds good.

Could you give me more information about her (wood, neck, pickup,...) or a link to a full description, such as we find onto the web site?

Many thanks.

Bye.

Stingray 4

Dan,

Thanks for all these pieces of information. They are precious for me.

Last question, for the moment ;) : do you know if this SR has been built for exportation (which country) or for the States? An idea of the first owner?
I'm very interested in by all her history's details.

Thanks in advance for everything you will provide me.

Your bass was originally shipped to France to our distribution partner there, High Tech. To which individual store it went to from there, we have no records of.

We have no records of any person registering this bass.

Hi Dan,

That's really nice of you giving me these details.

I know better her history, from her birth, and that's very interesting for me.

Many Thanks.

Renaud.

Hi Dan! Got a new one to run by you...a Natural Ash EB/MM 'Ray.

Serial # B04614

Thanks for doing the digging!

James

James, I dig digging! This Natural StingRay was built on 12/05/96 and was sent to Gelb Music in Redwood City (no longer MM dealers but still a cool store) near San Francisco, Ca.
