I recently bought a black stingray bass serial # 25505 for a couple hundred dollars in a thrift shop...can you tell me when it was made and was it a good value buy? The condition is good and sounds great.

This one was done on 9/10/87, you can check past history sales on ebay for an idea on what they are going for now. Since we do not sell used instruments, I can't really give any insight on the price/value.
Hi Aziah,

I have 2 Sterling basses a 4 string and a 5 string, would you be able to check when they were built and any specs? The serial numbers are:

F03247 DOB: 12/7/00 Trans Red, Maple Fretobard, Matching Headstock
F22064 DOB: 8/8/08 Pacific Blue Burst, Maple Fretboard, Matching Headstock

Thanks!

Sorry I got the number from the for sale photo liked again and it looks like it might be E09290
cheers Bri

Does it mean it is with Alnico magnet pickup?
What year exactly Stingray was again equipped with Alnico magnet pickup? IS it pre 98 and post 2006?

Thanks for your help.
Tom

We switched back to Alnico on the SR5 in March 2008

How about DD2 Big Al # F 20240 ? (I know it's definitely 2009...)

Also, was there ever a thread about how many of each type of DD2 were made? It's hard to search with short words...
