Hello as they are.
I wonder to what year the bridge was manufactured with dampers, and I had understood that it was up to the year 1993.
And also know, if possible, the name under which he met this bridge.
The serial number is 39 598 Musicman Stingray.

There were still a few produced in 1994 but they mostly stopped in 1993

I'm not really sure I know what you mean here. Can you send me a PM please with further information?

Hello,

I'd like to get a DOB and original setup if possible for a SR 4 with serial number E07662. Today she is candy red with black pick guard and a rosewood fretboard. I think it's from 1999 but would love a DOB.

Cheers,

Emil

First post on this forum; bought # B025744 (which I believe to be a 1983) used in approx 1985; black with a 4 bolt maple neck

It came without the original pick guard; is the correct guard white?

BTW, just pulled this bass out of moth balls for a project (probably sat for 10 years) as it is sooo heavy; of course now we have wide padded straps that make it bearable; suddenly the feather weight 70's J basses are sitting and I've become possesed with this instrument again!

It kills with a LMII through a TL606 cab or a Berg HT322; surprisingly, have not found the right settings for an SVT-CL yet

Welcome to the Forum Jim. 1983 is about correct for a Pre-EB Bass with that serial but it may be a year earlier. No official records exist and the serials are not necessarily in chronological order. However, dates are located on the neck heel and in the neck pocket on the body if you need to date it accurately. They did vary geatly in weight. Mine is 15lbs and came new with a strap 4 inches wide!

P.S. I'd overlooked your pickguard question. As far as I'm aware, White was only an option in 1976 and 1977.

Thanks; didn't know about the other date code locations.
Would it help anybody to pull the neck for data base details?

Also, assuming then that this bass came with a black guard; was it 3-ply blk/wht/blk?
Have heard that EB will sell propper replacements (no relief for truss rod) as well as WD?

You guys have any preferences as to brand; would like to return this to as close to original as possible.

15lbs? Now that's a guy who either loves his bass or is 10' tall!

If you ever remove the neck it would be a great help to get the dates.

The pg would have been 3 ply...Black-White-Black.

EB may well have the correct pg as their earlier Basses also had the truss nut at the headstock like the Pre-EB's.

This is a Pre-Ernie Ball bass, so we do not have the info in our data base, but you can check this site for more info: SERIALS Pre-EB and EB - Musicmanbass.org, Music Man, Musicman, Music Man Bass, Musicman Bass, Music Man Guitar
