hi there. This forum is amazing. Iam desperatley seeking the year my bass was born and its origins,as I live in Australia. I purchased my bass in a secondhand store and allways wondered how it got there.
Its a Stingray 4 string, serial E39760

They're meant as a ready-reckoner (only) and to give a rough idea of date. They're NOT a complete data base.

Serial numbers for Pre-EB Basses don't exist so a comparison with other dated Pre-EB serials should be helpful.

As Ernie Ball has it's own data base for all their instruments, the date of an EB instrument can be obtained by posting in this thread and quoting your serial number.

Sweet thread. I have a Bongo 4HH Saphire Black. Serial F12647. I looked on the serial number web site and it looks like this one was born some time in 2005, but I'm not sure.

Of course if it was part of a limited run and only three were made that month and they had super secret diddlidoo's incorporated into the control scheme I'd be pretty excited....

A birth date would be great too...
