Neck has nice bird's eyes but seems to be gloss, not gunstock oil. Any thoughts on this?

That bass was completed on December 8th, 1992. It was probably built during our transition to the gunstock oil finish. Birdseye was more plentiful then (we didn't have so many industries using it all up) so our normal production saw more of it. The 2 band EQ was an option then and the bridge was standard.

Welcome to the family! Your bass was completed on September 1st, 2000. We use 45-65-80-100-130 here at the factory on all of our 5 strings. If your strings are a little old you may want to try a new set.

It has some kinda glossy moss-green finish. I love how unique it is, but it makes the legitimacy of the bass questionable.

Your bass is legit. The color is called Metal Flake Green and it was discontinued a long time ago. The bass was completed on September 27th, 2009.

Stringray Bass ID & info

New forum guy, long time player, looking at buying first SR. I know just a little about it, but I do have the serial number. It's E30558. It's described as burnt cherry finish and mahogany fretboard, black pickguard with 4 controls. Looks like it has sparkle in the cherry (red) finish. In any event, I'd appreciate any info available to me with this information. Thanks
