Thanks a lot Jacob! I really appreciated to know about my basses =]
I also would like to know the database of my MM5, please!

-E30475.

thanks for everything.

E30475 - DOB: 04/24/02, Black SR5, maple neck/ fretboard, black pickguard.

New forum guy, long time player, looking at buying first SR. I know just a little about it, but I do have the serial number. It's E30558. It's described as burnt cherry finish and mahogany fretboard, black pickguard with 4 controls. Looks like it has sparkle in the cherry (red) finish. In any event, I'd appreciate any info available to me with this information. Thanks :)

Oren, welcome to the forum!

Wow--this is great! I'm the very proud "first-ish" owner of a Stingray with a bit of an unusual back story. Grew up in the San Fernando Valley, was a frequent tire kicker at an old, now-closed music store called Nadine's. Bought my SR there, white, black PG, birdseye neck, maple fingerboard. Story I got from the sales guy was that the bass had been an order from the factory, the customer waited six months for the delivery, they got it in, but the guy was short the rest of the cash and had to wait, so they hung it on the wall. Jan 17, 1994, the Northridge Earthquake knocked it off the wall, it fell onto a cab and got a ding in the back. The guy naturally refused delivery and got a refund of his deposit, and the factory didn't want the bass back. So they rehung it. A lot of my stuff got damaged as well, so I got a check from the insurance company, and about a month or so later, I walked in and bought it off the wall for $600, with a generic case. Put some model enamel on the back to cover the raw wood, and I've had it since then. Realized that it's coming up on 20 years, and just wanted to know a little about my #1.

Serial #36651 (no letters, stamped on the bridge).

Will visit more often...

Hi, I just bought a Sterling 2nd hand. The seller claimed that it once belonged to a roadie from Rush, and the bass was made for Geddy Lee. Geddy didn't like the bass, so he gave it to his roadie. Would you be able to confirm if this is anywhere near being true?

That bass was completed on July 16th, 2002. It looks like it was made for NAMM then invoiced out (along with a guitar) to a miscellaneous artist relations account. It doesn't say who the instruments were going to.

That bass was completed on December 31st, 2001. It was originally shipped to Sam Ash.

Your Sterling was completed on June 15th, 1995. Those specifications sound consistent with a bass of that era.

Just bought my 2nd StingRay 5 would like to know it's birthday #E66897 natural finish maple board HH?
