A while back I bought a JP case and now that I've sold the guitar I need to ship it. When the case came to me it was in a form fitting box surrounded by a little packing paper and a larger box. It was great for an empty case but is that how they ship their guitars too?

Stop by a local guitar shop and ask if they have any boxes laying around. The store nearest to me always helped out at no cost. I found that other manufacturers have slightly larger cardboard boxes which allow for some additional filler/padding between the HSC and the outer box. That cardboard box MM uses will not protect the HSC if UPS decides to fun a forklift into it :(

I have one in the store room at work just in case I ever need to ship it anywhere, I asked my dealer for one and he sorted me out.

Uline sells guitar boxes in packs of 5. I think they are like $10 apiece.
