]Does anyone know what is the best way to clean the back of the neck on a Music Man Sterling. I ask, since I have never owned a guitar that the back of the neck was unfinished. I would appreciate any advice. Thanks.

You're welcome Ray....I'm sure people here would like to see photos of your bass (clean or dirty neck).
Me I'm just visiting from the guitar side...I have 3 basses but none of them are EBMM so I'd better not hang around here!!

You need to buy some EBMM basses.

The question is, why isnt any of the 3 you own a MM?

Does some other company make a better bass than Ernie Ball? I think not!

Well since you ask......my main bass is a Fender Japan jazz I bought new in 1986 with EMGs from 1987. Served me very well and goes "bump thud" very effectively in any band in which I've played bass.
The other 2 are a Hofner violin copy and a purple heart shaped cheap Daisy Rock which are just fun.
I'm sure EBMM are outstanding basses, though I've never played one.I don't always aspire to have the best of everything, adequate is good enough and I don't need to spend crazy European money for what would probably be a marginal improvement. And why would I need "some" rather than just one????
Off back to the guitar side now...I have 2 Silhouettes so I'm not an imposter over there.
Sorry for upsetting you.

I don't think that was his intension.....

By the way, if you own 2 Silhouettes, clearly you don't believe the "adequete is acceptable" concept. We are simply sticking up for our cause...EBMM basses...if you played one, you see/hear the difference is waaaaaay beyond marginal! It's the equivelent of you playing a Hondo instead of a Silhouette!

You are welcome here...please don't take it any ather way!!

Of course, I am only speaking for myself....!
