Sting ray 1992
Hi!
I recently got my 1992 Sting Ray 4, back after almost 20 years away.
This bass is white, so the white is now yellow/brown/tobacco colored. On top of that the finnish is coming off after years of use.
Will this bass have any value-issues if i get it re-finnished in black color?🙄

I'm not an authority by any means but in my experience I think most people prefer original w/ character over refinished & "perfect". Value is too wacky to say for sure these days but I'd start on the popular sites with a number slightly above average and negotiate down from there.

Only refinish if you are planning on keeping it and want it pristine looking.
people are paying over the odds for fakes that look like they have had a hard life (nowt as strange as folk lol) so keep as is.
as far as value goes, as much as you can get for it ! But seriously have a look at what else is for sale in the usual places and go from there. It also depends on what part of the world you are in
have you any photos?

Don’t refinish! It’ll hurt the value! If it’s a 3eq it’s worth around 1400-1800, if it’s a 2eq it’s probably worth we’ll above 2000 but below 3. Since it’s got the mute kit, even if it is a 3eq it’s gonna be worth around 2
