I have a guy wanting to trade me a Music Man Sub1. What is the current value of these guitars? I have looked on ebay and here and can't find any info on what it's worth. Thanks

Hello

Here in France, there is a second hand SUB (2 pickups + trem) with a price of 600 € ...
There is also a new one with a list price of 950 € ...

3 years ago, I bought mine (new) with a price of 599 € ... So it's really hard to know. But in any case it's cheaper in the US !

Check Craigslist, Daddy's Junky Music, Guitar Center.... I've seen them from asking price of $250 to $400. When I put mine for sale before modifications, I had zero interest at $400 with a hard shell case. Guitar Center offered me $250 before I modded it and insisted I include the hardshell case at that price. Mine was HH/trem in black. Now....well, I put $texas into it, so it's mine forever.

It would seem that the going price on Ebay these days is $300-$400, usually without a case or with a gigbag. I got my first one by offering $350 on a $400 starting bid; the subsequent ones were a little less. There have been a couple recently starting at $500; one ended with an offer of $400, the other got no bites.

The Subs are getting some respect now on ebay, they are also getting fewer and farther between. This one sold for $475 with a hard case. BTW it's exactly like one of mine. BP recently (in effect) said they are worth more than they have been selling for and wise men would agree.

Apologies and slap me down jamminjim if this sounds patronising!

At the moment, when I post a link I highlight the [URL .... /URL] in the post box, and hit CTRL-U to automatically underline the link; as you've seen, the new forum format doesn't underline links automatically.

I like links underlined like you clearly do too!

The Sub just owns, you are so right.

They are great guitars for the price. I wouldn't hesitate spending $500 on one in really good shape. I have one for over a year and played the crap out of it. One of my all time favorite guitars.

I paid around $375 for mine with a missing trem arm. Ordered a new trem arm and had a complete setup so I guess I have $475 into it.
