Hello everybody.. I'm new to the forum. I have a Music Man Cutlass guitar which as I'm sure you're all aware is awesome.

I also had a Music Man USA SUB 4 which I sold back in 2010. And so to correct my mistake I just ordered a used one from Reverb. But as I remember mine and look at others online, I've only seen the USA SUB series with black pickups. But the one I just bought has white pickups. Has anyone seen one with white pickups before?

Thanks in advance for any feedback. Not sure if I'm posting this in the right place either.

Anthony

That's a good point. Can you give a look over the picture that I attached to the post and tell me if from you can see it looks like a real USA SUB?

I can't see the pics beneath the one you posted. Do you have pics of front and rear of headstock & bridge or maybe a link to the the advert?

Also, at the top of the Forum is a Sticky Thread "Serial Number Search Tool". Enter your serial number and compare the details. Your serial should be on the rear of the headstock and prefixed with an "X"

I have owned 15 sub's, no white pickup covers. Would look good on one though.

Thanks for the responses. What actually made me skeptical to begin with was that the seller included a picture of the serial number as one of the four photos with the listing. That seemed for some reason to be needlessly selling the point that it was authentic.

Then I realized it had white pickups and no other USA SUB had white pickups that I had seen. I tried last night to cancel the order but the seller denied the request. But I imagine that if an instrument has been modified from factory standards and the listing doesn't say it has been modified that should meet the return criteria of 'item not as described'. I'll see though. It's been shipped.

Here is the link to the listing. I'll attach the only photos it had also if you want to see if it looks authentic or not. Sort of interesting in a way. Headstock does look a little too new.

From what I can see, all looks good to me. The EB serial number description matches your Bass (2004 Textured White). Also the headstock markings (front & rear) for a 2004 SUB are correct.

Thank you, Rod. I am definitely hoping that when it arrives it checks out as feeling authentic. I remember that the feel of these SUB's is uniquely great.. so I should be able to tell. But it's nice to get the reassurance that it looks good to you.
