Anyway, ...if You're good with electronics, You can connect both basses through a professional audio spectrum analyzer and check it by Yourself!
I'm good with electronics but I don't have a professional audio spectrum analyzer.
It would help a musician greatly know know what each knob on his bass does and how it would affect the mix. You don't buy an EQ pedal or rackmount without first seeing that it has frequencies that you know will help you make the band sound better.
Not sure knowing the frequencies or falloff will really help you adjust it more effectively. Your ears are still the best way to find the sound that you want.
