I spotted this Peavey Omniac on Ebay. The seller reckons that they are made at the MusicMan facility?

Any truth in this?

Item number: 370002623678

I played a couple of the Peavey HP Specials in a shop the other week- I wasn't exactly bowled over by the quality of the finish of the body and the fret job on the neck. Maybe Peavey have upped their game and have chosen to out source production?

Thats what my first reaction was. I might email the seller (who is a shop, not a private seller) and find out about his side of the story...

Peavey has a line of guitars made in Asia. They also have their American production models. Sounds to me like you played one of the imports.

No truth to the rumor that MM & PV work together as far as I know.

I don't think Hartley and Sterling are THAT good of friends!!

Besides, I just spotted a Musicman Omniac on Ebay and the seller reckons they are made at the Peavey facility!!

You are now entering "The Twilight Zone".

Maybe we should end this discussion to prevent Poppa from smashing his keyboard, shouldn't we? ;)

Yeah, sure it is peavey and EBMM working together!

In fact they are researching for a secret EBMM/Peavey Wolfgaxis model right now!

And, one of the other hot news today - EBMM and Ibanez have offically started working together on a project called Music Man/Ibanez Petrucci model. The colour is said to be Picasso Blue Dawn (sprayed onto each chinese oak body by the man himself).

Stay tuned for more collaboration infos!

No- it was definately an american one. The fretting was sloppy- big gaps around the fret ends- finish had already sunk into the grain and it was orange peeley. Its a shame, cuz Peavey can and have produced some great guitars.

Yeah- let's close the thread. Sorry Poppa! Didn't mean to insult you! :)

Conclusion- the seller on Ebay must be struggling to sell his guitars- so he has resorted to claiming the guitar in question was built by a superior guitar company.

Thread closed! lol
