No! The threads still open! Please tell me...
Well about 2 years before I had bought my first Axis I had played one second hand but being still at school I had zero cash to spend and a guitar like that was way out my reach.
I eventually got some cash together and I had fell in love with Axis the moment I played it so I had wanted one from that moment on. None of my local shops stocked the Axis though, which is why I jumped at the chance of playing the second hand one 2 years previous. I knew I would have to order one through the shop from the distributor. Its nice to play it I suppose before you buy it but I knew that the guitar would play like butter and it felt perfect to me from that tiny amount of time I had one in my hands...
So I go in to see what they can get me, they ring up strings n things and see what they have in stock. He rhymed off some of what they had and asked me what colour I said I dunno, what do they have? He mentioned Tobacco Sunburst amongst them and I said ye why not.
Whilst I was in the shop I took a wander around, they were also a Peavey dealership as well so the guy that must be on the Peavey commission was tryin to get me to change my mind. He brought out a Wolfgang Custom or something. I remember it being a hardtail. I had a shot of it out of my curiosity to see what it was like but I knew there wasn't a chance in hell I was taking it. However he kept trying to talk me out the Axis... so I said look...
who makes the pickups?... PV
who makes the bridge?... PV
who makes the tuners?... PV
an so on and so forth...
Axis I said it was all top brand top quality parts, I said all of that doesnt sit with me at all and fact that its all made by them and yet your PV is £200+ more expensive?!?... and to top it all off anyway its a hardtail!
He was not very happy though...
So I ordered my guitar and I didnt get it for a few days but it was worth it.
It hadn't been opened until I showed up and a few of the guys in the shop were eager to see it when i got around to opening it. I basically bought it blind I suppose and I could not be happier with it. I couldn't live without that guitar.
rattled on a bit eh?.....lol
