i was just wondering why musicman guitars are such an uncommon instrument in australia, or at least in western australia. they are just as good quality if not better and half the price than a PRS or a gibson. so why are they such a underrated instrument in australia???

Hey, MM guitars are not underrated and rare in Australia, Colin is just "cornering" the market!!! Ya know, like Debeers did with diamonds. He's hording them.

OK here's the deal. Music Man Basses walkout the door here and anywhere around the world. In Oz dealers don't get the same margin on the guitars as they do with the basses. So the Dealer is thinking I can sell a MM bass more easily and make more for it than have a MM guitar that may take longer to sell. Guitarist are more picky than Bass players, they are given more options too (no trems on basses, mm 90 pickups to choose from, etc). Then there's the internet, a lot of people purchase thru that medium rather than the store. The dealer will still order the guitar for you he's just not likely to have it in stock at the time. I have set goals with my business here in Australia to combat these issues, but that takes time.
I would think that they are uncommon in the United States. It isn't as popular as Fender or Gibson for some reason. Ernie Ball Musicman Guitars are the best out there in my opinion. Even though I haven't played many of them, they always put their best work into their instruments.
