i was curious if anyone knows how to tell when a EB/MM guitar was made ? or at least ball park it ? thanks.

Mike - try posting this in the sticky thread called "IMPORTANT: My Ernie Ball's Serial Number is . . ."

EBMM's Customer Service checks that routinely and answers questions up there; they sometimes miss individual threads.
