I had the impression that StingRay was not set to "neutral" but to bass and treble completely rolled off, which means they were cut.

That's what i was thinking too.

Thank's for taking the time to do things like this, its very entertaining.

I liked the fretted Ric, the Sterling, the Stingray, and the Lakland.

Not so - I had bass and treble at roughly mid-way. There's no middle indent on the pre-EB the way there is on the Sterling, so I kind of guessed what was mid-way.

Thanks for clarifying this. I know about the 2EQ not having the middle indents, and that was why I thought you might have rolled them off completely, think that it would give you the "neutral" sound. But you recorded it like I would have as well. IMO, that would mean your StingRay has a really strong midrange.

Anyway, thanks again for doing it... regardless of style and playing technique, I always find such comparisions interesting.
